Flygt Submersible Drilling Fluid Mixers

For control of down hole conditions and good drilling results, the quality of the drilling fluids used is critical.  Keeping drilling fluids well mixed during transport on OSV’s and while stored on rigs ensures that the necessary product qualities are maintained - whether in reserve or active tanks.ITT Water and Wastewater offers submersible liquid handling and technology to provide complete mixing of any tank.  With Flygt submersible mixers from ITT, the motor and propeller are integrated into one compact unit. The ability to optimally aim the jet ensures that its energy is not dissipated against the tank floor, baffles or facing walls.  With correct sizing and positioning of the mixers, the entire tank contents are set into motion.  This motion, or bulk flow, maintains homogeneity of the drilling fluid.Flygt submersible mixers are located inside the tank and therefore do not take up valuable floor space on the OSV or rig. Tank structure is simplified since baffles required by top entry mixers are no longer necessary. There is also no need for piping, valves and external pumps, as required for mud gun systems.Flygt submersible mixers are available in standard and explosion proof versions, with warm liquid ratings to 90 ºC. Flygt mixers are also certified by the American Bureau of Shipping.Every component in a Flygt mixer is designed by ITT engineers: from the motor down to the seals and hydraulic end. The products are manufactured in ITT facilities and marketed globally.Flygt provides customers with application support with sales and service in 140 countries. Flygt will be at the 2008 International Workboat Show, booth 349.(www.us.ittwww.com)
